What is Pickleball?

Pickleball is a paddle sport that combines elements of tennis, badminton, and ping-pong. It is played with a paddle and a perforated plastic ball on a court similar to a badminton court.

What do I need to bring? Does Social Sport provide all the equipment?

Social Sport provides all playing equipment; including paddles and balls. Simply wear sporting attire, arrive at your scheduled game time and have fun!

Is Pickleball suitable for anyone?

Yes! Pickleball is a sport that can be enjoyed by people of all ages and abilities.

How many players are in a Pickleball team?

A maximum of two players, per team, are allowed on court at any one time. Teams may have a third player as a substitute. Teams may substitute as per our substitute rules listed in our Pickleball rules.

Do the competitions have a referee?
No, our competitions are social and like most social racquet sports, games are self-officiated. Players are to ‘call the lines’ as honestly and fairly as they can.

What type of competitions does Social Sport offer?

We offer both Mixed and Mens competitions.

Is Pickleball played indoors or outdoors?

We offer competitions from premium indoor and outdoor facilities around Melbourne.

Do Pickleball competitions have an umpire?

Pickleball does not have umpires, rather, the game relies on the integrity of players to make decisions on line-calls.
